2011 GHHJA Rule Change Proposals

Article 607
-Change to read “The $100.00 application fee will be returned to the Applicant should the             Applicant not be awarded a show date.  If date is awarded and the show is canceled without rescheduling within the current show year the application fee will not be returned to the             Applicant unless refund is approved by Board vote.  Date priority will also be lost if a canceled show is not rescheduled unless date retention is approved by Board vote.  Any show canceled without written notice (email is acceptable) to the entire board and compliance committee forfeits the application fee. 

Article 609.  Rescheduling Shows
-Add to end “Board may vote to approve extension of a show year to allow for rescheduling of    shows canceled due to extraordinary circumstances and the inability to reschedule during normal show year. Show year may not be extended beyond Dec 31st.”

Article 401.2
            -Remove “A division will be recognized for points as long as two (2) performance classes and the under saddle class are completed” and “A division will be recognized for points as long as three (3) performance classes are completed”.

Article 307.2
            -Add (Following “Riders may trot or canter courses”) “Leads after the first jump may not be considered by the judges”.

Article 307.1
            -Remove “Riders who win their 6th blue ribbon on Saturday may compete in this division on Sunday if they were pre-entered” and replace with “Riders are eligible all year”

Article 309.1
            -Remove “Open to GHHJA Member Pony riders” and replace with “Open to GHHJA Member    and Non-Member Pony Riders”
            -Remove “Points will be awarded as in the equitation division.  If there are at least six         qualifiers, a ride off class will be held each year to determine the overall Pony Medal winner.                 The top fifteen riders based on points won in a show year will compete in the ride-off class.” and replace with “Points will only be awarded to current GHHJA members, as in the equitation division.  If there are at least six current GHHJA member qualifiers, a ride off class will be held each year to determine the overall Pony Medal winner.  The top fifteen current GHHJA member riders based on points won in a show year will compete in the ride-off class.”

Article 309.2
            -Remove “Open to GHHJA Member Limit riders” and replace with “Open to GHHJA Member and Non-Member Limit Riders”
